How Much Does A Hearing Test Cost?
Independent Hearing offers a wide range of hearing assessments. We start with a FREE Hearing Screen to determine if a hearing loss is present, depending on the outcome further comprehensive testing may be conducted which start from $50.
*If you are over 65 years of age or hold a valid Pension/DVA card then Independent Hearing offers a FREE comprehensive Hearing Test at no charge.
How Long Does A Hearing Test Take?
A Comprehensive Hearing test will take approximately 45-60 minutes depending on the complexity of the hearing loss.
Our FREE hearing screens are less comprehensive and will only take 15mins.
How Often Do I Need To Go For A Hearing Test?

Is A Hearing Test Painful?
Short answer is No. Hearing testing is a non-invasive assessment and there should be no concern for pain or discomfort. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort prior to your appointment you should advise your hearing care professional so they are aware prior to the assessment being conducted.
Is A Hearing Test Covered By Medicare?
Typically No. Hearing assessments for all eligible Pension and Veteran card holders are covered under the Hearing Services Program which ensures bulk-billing of all hearing related appointments. Eligible individuals under the age of 65 may apply with NDIS to receive funded hearing services if they meet the specific requirements.
